Cutting disc diameter: The cutterhead diameter of the “Yong’an” tunnel boring machine used is 14.29 meters.
Tunneling length: The Guifengshan Tunnel has a total length of 15.155 kilometers. Section JJZQ-4 is responsible for constructing 9.37 kilometers of the tunnel. Within this section, the shield-tunneling segment measures approximately 4 kilometers in length. Additionally, the tunnel includes Shield Segment No. 1, which is 4.78 kilometers long, and the newly completed Shield Segment No. 2, which is about 4 kilometers long. The tunnel’s overall minimum burial depth is approximately 51 meters, while its maximum burial depth reaches about 90 meters.
Project Features:
During construction, a record was set for the TBM’s daily advance of 21 meters and monthly advance of 395 meters in hard rock strata with an ultra-large diameter. Moreover, through industry-academia-research collaboration, the project successfully overcame the challenge of lacking prior experience in constructing ultra-large-diameter dual-mode shield tunnels, providing a benchmark for similar projects.
